CEO – Fabrik Industries, Inc.
Company History
In 1960, Seth Wagner joined his father-in-law, Hans Freeman, to work in his plastics company in Chicago, IL. Seth worked under Hans’ wing at Creative Plastics Engineering Company for almost 20 years, learning the trade and the amount of hard work and detail that went into every mold.
In 1978, Seth leased out a small factory in Algonquin, IL, to expand the quality of work Hans had taught him, and to start working on his own molding projects. By 1980, with only 2 molding machines and a small tool shop inside a 1,200 sq. ft. factory, Fabrik Industries was born. Seth started out by providing sample molds and fixing small problems for 2 nearby suppliers. He had little help and many times took his molds home with him to trim and modify the parts in his living room at night.
By 1984, Seth’s hard work and business plan began to drive success, and Fabrik Industries needed to expand the business to continue growth. Seth moved the plant from Algonquin to nearby McHenry, IL, to a 28,500 sq. ft. facility. Now with 12 machines, Fabrik began to accept larger molding projects and put them into production.
In 1992, Fabrik bought a piece of property just down the road, and built a new 60,000 sq. ft. facility. 2 years later, Fabrik had already outgrown the plant, and added another 60,000 sq. ft. to accommodate for the amount of projects they were taking on.
Today, Fabrik is now a 3rd generation company, and is considered as a worldwide custom plastic injection and insert molding organization. Still headquartered in the Midwest, Fabrik has carved itself in a special place among the elite companies in the industry with a global reach that has no limitations. With a large 120,000 sq. ft. facility, and more knowledgeable and quality-seeking employees, Fabrik’s potential for future growth far exceeds the amount of previous success it has had in the past.
